VACCINATIONS
All pets
that stay at our facility must be current on vaccinations and canines must have a current negative heartworm test. Certificates or verification from the administering veterinarian must be provided. If unavailable within 24 hours of admittance, administration will be required at the owner's expense. The only exceptions to this policy are vaccinations contraindicated due to illness, at hospitalization.
Vaccinations provide protection to your pet against specific illnesses. By requiring that all pets be current, we offer the safest possible environment for your pet. Any pet with indications of external parasites will receive treatment at the owner's expense. We routinely treat the facility but treat pets only as needed or at owner's request. Fees are posted in the office and available by telephone. Pets are admitted and discharged Monday through Saturday during regular office hours. There is usually less delay if, on Monday through Thursday evenings, you arrive before walk-in hours.
Top RESERVATIONS
Reservations are recommended as the boarding facilities are usually full during holidays and summer. A deposit is required to reserve space for each pet but is refunded if reservations are cancelled 24 hours in advance.
Top BATHING
Bathing services are available and, if arranged, please allow sufficient time for your pet to dry before you arrive for discharge.
Top FOR YOUR PET
Inform us of your pet's preferences or special needs during the stay - please confirm if additional fees apply. Heartworm preventative that is due during your dog's stay will be given at no charge if you provide the preventative. Pets are fed once daily with canned and/or dry food. Additional feedings are available upon owner's request for a small fee. Fresh water is available at all times, regularly changed, and bowls disinfected between each use. Disposable pans are used for litter and blankets are provided. We do not recommend leaving personal items. Because we need to clean and disinfect, they may be damaged or identification lost.
Top FACILITIES
We offer indoor/outdoor kennels. The runs are roofed and fan cooled, the connecting interior space is fan cooled or heated. Free access is provided during all appropriate weather. BAVH also has air conditioned indoor runs for our special needs canines. Cats, small pets or pets with special needs are kept inside with supervised exercise. Pets are kept individually unless you request family pets be kept together. We reserve the right to separate them if they quarrel.
Top EMERGENCY CONTACTS
You will be asked to provide emergency contact information. We need to be able to contact you or someone you designate should there be a question or concern during your pet's stay.
Top DISCHARGE
At discharge, your pet will be excited to see you. Please limit water when you first get home. Go lightly on snacks and the evening meal. Over-feeding or over-watering at this time may cause vomiting or diarrhea when combined with the excitement.
